General Notes
Annual General Meeting.
A very successful AGM was held via webinar last week with Members participating over a Zoom Webinar. With a number of motions down for decision the meeting was interactive and members were allowed to vote on the different motions.
The Chairperson Paul expressed his thanks to Aidan McDonald and the Constitution Review Committee for their excellent work in formulating the motions that were put before the meeting. Also a big thank you to Terry Harmer for the manner in which he organised the interactive aspect of the meeting and in particular the voting process.
Members were allowed to cast their vote and the result was conveyed to the meeting instantly.
The motion, to include the cost of the personal insurance (€25) with the annual subscription was debated with some members seeking clarification on certain issues.
All motions were passed.
Following discussions earlier in the year, it was agreed that any profits, made by the Club, would be returned to the members, in the form of a reduction in their annual subscription. This, once off bonus, will be calculated and will be reflected in your annual bill when they are issued in the coming weeks.
Course Closure
The support and patience of the members during the closure of the course, last week, was greatly appreciated by the Club and especially by the course staff.
It facilitated them in getting a lot of essential work done on the course which included, the aeration, spraying & application of fertiliser to the Tees, Fairways and Greens. Substantial areas of the rough and fairways were aerated with a ground breaker machine, to help the aeration process.
Other work included the installation of the support sleepers around the first tee, and additional drainage on the eleventh fairway.
Saturday Crosscard.
The continued success and popularity of the Saturday Cross-card led to last Saturdays event being over-subscribed, with far more members wishing to play than the amount of places allocated. This resulted in several regulars being disappointed and unable to play.
To avoid further dis-appointment in the future, the Cross-card committee have, with immediate effect, introduced new guidelines for the registration of players.
The only way of registering to play is by ones attendance at the pre-determined time in the clubhouse.
Members are no longer allowed to phone in their intention to play.
Neither can a member add a colleagues name and pre-pay for him prior to his arrival.
The committee will continue to monitor the situation.

The league is being decided on each player’s best 10 weekly points. One point is awarded per attendance and the total number of points earned for attendance can count as a top 10 score.
Big changes in the leaderboard are expected from next week as players begin to drop their worse scores.
Also, from next week on, the top 10 on the league table will be seeded to ensure they are not drawn together.
Big numbers have attended each Saturday and, as there is a finite number that can play each week, two changes are being introduced for all intending players. Players will no longer be allowed to book a place over the phone – they must put their name down in person. Also, players will not be allowed to book in someone else. This will ensure that, where there is a limit on the numbers, names will be entered in the draw on a strict first-come, first-served basis.
