Junior/Juvenile Club
Team Results.
The Boys Junior Foursomes team played on Sunday against Castlecomer Golf Club.
One match was played on each course, with aggregate scores determining the result. At home, Billy Fitzpatrick and David Mulrooney represented Kilkenny.
In their match both sides played fantastic golf with some exquisite short game skills on display. The match was played in a great spirit and at a great pace of play with Billy and David winning 2 up after 18 holes.
The attention turned to Castlecomer at this point and the news coming through was not good with Castlecomer leading by 5 holes at one point.
Sean Keenan and James O’Shea representing Kilkenny, showed great determination and battled back to be only 2 down going to the last hole. This put the match level overall with only 1 hole to play. The Castlecomer boys made a match winning birdie on the final hole to finish out the victory.
The team management want to say thanks to all the boys and parents involved who put in a huge effort and represented the Club with dignity.
