2020 Leinster AIG Junior Cup Final
The Covid delayed Leinster Final of the AIG Junior Cup has been rescheduled to take place on Monday, 07 June, in Millicent Golf Club, Clane Co.Kildare, at 15.00 hrs..
Kilkenny will face Coorstown GC, Kilsallaghan, Co. Dublin.
Due to current restrictions the final will be played behind closed doors with no
spectators allowed to attend.
In line with the Government protocols, attendance at the event will be restricted to the following:-
• 1 x Team Captain
• 1 x Assistant Captain
• 1 x Club Officer (e.g. Club Captain)
• 1 x Covid Compliance Officer
• Total of 7 players (5 players and 2 reserves)
With just three weeks to the final, Team managers, Luke Kelly & Aidan McDonald, will be checking the form of their team members.
The winners of the Leinster final have a very tight deadline, as they will be expected to travel to Donegal, two days later for a practice round on Wednesday 09 June and contest the All Ireland Final on Thursday.
The other three Provinces, Munster, Connaught and Ulster had already completed their matches prior to lockdown.

Competitions Return.
Golfers will be delighted with the return to competitive golf this coming week-end, with members playing in the Richard Duggan Memorial event.
Kindly sponsored by Richard Duggan Menswear, this weeks competition is a 18 hole singles, stroke event. The Mens Club Fourball will follow the following weekend.
A full list of competitions, to be held throughout the Summer and Autumn is being finalised at the moment and will be published on the Club V1 app, once completed. The Ladies are kicking off with 18 Hole Stableford.

Prior to playing in this weeks competition, Members are reminded to check their Handicap Index when they register to play. This they can do by looking it up on the Club V1 App or swiping their membership cad on any of the three terminals available. You should then proceed to the large playing handicap board at the first tee and using the correct tee marker (White, Green or Red) determine your playing handicap for the day.

Gents Club.

Feedback from members was that their work was much appreciated.

Senior Gents
Following the long, enforced lay-off, this Thursday, the Senior Gents resume their weekly outings, the draw for which will be published on the BRS this evening (Tuesday).
Please remember – Arrive-Play-Depart.
Bookings, via the BRS, for next weeks competition will be open from 18.00hrs. next Friday and will close on Monday at 15.00hrs. The draw will be available on the BRS on Tuesday evening and also e-mailed to members.
Members are asked to enter their names on the reserved section between 10.20 and 13.30. There is only one time block for the moment.
If you find that you cannot play please contact Jerry O’Dwyer, via text or call on 087 2475 336.
If you need help with the BRS system please let Jerry know or get a “buddy” to enter your name.
The €10 membership fee for the year will be collected at sign in on Thursday, as well as the €5 entrance fee.
There will be no prize-giving. Prizes will be given out the following week.
The timeframe to use the €10 voucher for the Restaurant has been extended to the end of the year.

Catering.
Barry Joyce continues with his excellent take-away meals this coming week-end.
Meals will be available for guests on Saturday (16.30-19.30hrs) and Sunday (13.00-17.30hrs.)

Members of the Seniors Golf Society can use their Christmas Gift vouchers as payment/ part payment for any meals they order.

Lotto bonus Ball Draw
Also making a return, is the popular Lotto Bonus Ball draw.
From today, tickets for the bonus ball draw on Wednesday, 26th May, are available and cost €5.
The weekly winner will win a €230 voucher for the Pro shop.

Callaway Club Fitting Day.

News
Ladies into Golf Programme 2021
We have received confirmation from Golf Ireland that the Ladies into Golf Programme can proceed this year, in line with the Golf Ireland Return to Golf Protocols.
There was great interest in the programme, with nearly 50 ladies putting their name forward. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to offer all ladies a place on this year’s programme, as we are so oversubscribed.
The shortlisting process is taking place at present and notification will be sent to all interested ladies in the coming weeks.
Martina Naugton is the programme co-ordinator, assisted by Margaret Kiely and Aine Russell.

Competitions:
Competitions return next weekend 22/23rd May, with an 18 hole Stableford event for the ladies.
The Valerie Doyle competition was originally scheduled but, in accordance with Golf Ireland protocols, no qualifying competitions can proceed before Monday, 07 June, 2021.

Ladies Team News
The draw for all Inter-Club competitions has been re-issued following the confirmation by the Government of the commencement of competitive sport and matches from Monday, 07 June 2021.
Due to Covid restrictions the various competitions will be played on a home/away basis, as opposed to the regional qualifiers of previous years.
First named team will have home advantage, with three matches, unless otherwise stated.
