General Notes

Registration & Scorecards
Members are reminded that there are only two people allowed in the Pro Shop at any one time.
There have been a few occasions, recently, whereby players are gathering around the terminal and discussing the time of day.
Members should swipe their card, tap the relevant answers, complete their task and collect their card and exit the shop immediately.

Some players are still not carrying out the correct procedures for marking their card.
The competitor puts his score in column A and records his agreed markers score in the left hand column (light blue).
At the end of the round they each double check their scores.
The member then signs his card under the players signature and prints the name of his marker on the Markers line.
This is required for verification purposes and failure to do so could lead to disqualification.

Junior/Juvenile Club
Sunday evening, 06 September. Golf sixes for Juniors.
Last Sunday, 06 September, saw the start of our six week programme – Golf Sixes for our Juniors, aged 12 years and under.
This is a six hole competition, playing a Texas Scramble, from the 150 Mtr. marker, in teams of two.
There was such a huge interest in participating that, numbers had to be limited to 32 for the first session.
It was heartening to see these young Juniors heading out to play six holes, who, for some, was the first time to play the course.
Each group of four, was accompanied by an adult volunteer who, marked their card and guided them through the course.
It is a great opportunity to introduce these young golfers to the rules and etiquette of golf in a relaxed atmosphere.

The results of the first competition
1. Jack Dooley & Cian Ormonde. 38 points
2. Rossa Mooney & Arthur Browne. 37 points
3. Darragh Kavanagh & Larry Phelan 35 points
Joe Corbett & Alex Rochford
Noah Orr & James Kavanagh.

The next session is scheduled for Sunday, 13 September, with the course booked from 17.30 to 19.00hrs.
Priority will be given to those Juniors who didn’t get an opportunity to play last week due to limitation on numbers and any additional places will be filled on a first come basis through the WhatsApp group, which has been set up for this purpose.
Thank you to the eight volunteers who gave their time to escort the groups out on the course, it is much appreciated by the Junior Committee.
Looking forward to our next session.
