Please note you will also have to download Zoom on your computer or phone before the meeting.
Nominations for Committee
Nominations for both the Ladies and Gent’s committees have now closed. Details of the Ladies Club are listed in the Ladies section.
Members still have until the 9th for Ladies & 10th for Gents respectively, to submit any motions for discussion at the AGM.
Christmas Gift Vouchers
Christmas Gift Vouchers are available from the office. These vouchers may be purchased for Green Fees or payments towards Annual Subscriptions. All denominations available.
Jimmy Bolger in the Pro Shop and Barry Joyce Catering also have vouchers available for the Pro Shop and for Meals.
Competitions resume this coming week.
First up will be the Senior Ladies & Gent’s weekly Thursday outings.
The much anticipated Saturday Gent’s Crosscard makes a welcome return and the week-end will see a Four Person Team Event take place.
Add to the above, the Ramblers & Gamblers Society on Friday and it would appear that life is getting back to normal.
Of course, the continuation of above is all dependent on us, as members, observing the Covid Protocols as set down by the Government, the GUI and Kilkenny Golf Club. All casual golf must be pre booked via the BRS.
World Handicapping System
The Handicap Committee have completed their review of Members Indexes under the new World Handicapping System and all members should now be updated where necessary on Golf Ireland. Club V1 have an issue with a Global Sync with Golf Ireland at the moment so Mens Handicaps may not be updated yet and consequently How Did I Do will not be updated. Accordingly, Golf Ireland is the only place to be sure of your correct Index at the moment. Ladies Handicaps should be correct on all platforms, Golf Ireland, Club V1 and How Did I Do.
With the demand for tee time not as high as anticipated the Course staff will have an opportunity to rotate the holes in use and rest parts of the course as they see fit.
Buggies are not permitted at the moment and this situation will not be reviewed before Friday.
The Kilkenny Lions Club Annual Christmas Auction
Kilkenny Lions Club held a very successful live auction on KCLR last week with over 180 items sold.
Lions Club PRO, Philip O’Neill said, on KCLR, that they were thrilled with the overall results of the event and were particularly delighted that the two special, Adare Manor, golf items sold for a total of €1,600.
The fourball, with breakfast and caddy went for €1,400 and the opportunity to play with the sponsor and renowned Irish jockeys, Paul Townend and David Mullins went for €200.
He was particularly grateful too, and thanked, all the local sponsors and also the purchasers of the various items.
It is thought that the golf items were purchased by local golf enthusiasts.
Seniors golf is back and this Thursday’s draw has been e-mailed to all.
Members are reminded to observe the Protocols as laid down when attending the regular Thursday outings.
Reservations for next weeks outing will become available on the BRS from 17.30 next Friday, 11 December.
Pro Shop Corner
Jimmy and Eoin are back in full swing and are looking forward to meeting you in the coming days.
As we have all been told to shop local, we should therefore call in to the Pro shop and select that special Christmas gift for the golfer in your life.
With a wide range of stock from Golf Clubs, to golf ware, to range finders or the invaluable gift vouchers, you are sure to satisfy your needs.
Any other Christmas gift ideas, don’t hesitate to contact Jimmy by phone (0876810585) or by email (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Bonus Ball Draw.
Following our return to golf the first Bonus Ball draw for a prize of a €230 voucher for the Pro shop, will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, 09 December.
Remember – you have to be in to win.
Bar & Catering
The Bar & Catering facilities are open to members on a limited basis. Open Tuesday to Sunday and closed on Monday.
Members can avail of tea/coffee after their round of golf but are not permitted to purchase alcohol, unless they are having a meal.
The catering operation will operate on a six day week, with Monday becoming a closed day.
