General Notes
Annual General Meeting of The Joint Club
The AGM of the Joint Club will be held in the Clubhouse this Thursday, 09 January, 2020 at 19.30hrs.
This is your opportunity to hear about the state of the Club and to voice your opinion on aspects of business that may be raised.
Remember there is no point complaining after the event.

Locker Keys.
There are a substantial number of locker keys missing from the lockers in the Gent’s locker room. At the moment 59 keys missing.
Members are reminded that the lockers are only for use for the duration of their game of golf and must be emptied after golf/shower and the key left in the lock for the next person who wishes to avail of the facility.
Would any member who may have such a key on their key-ring, golf bag or in the car please replace in the relevant lock immediately.

Pitch marks
We request members to please log into you tube and search for “How to properly repair pitch marks” and you will find many videos on the subject.
A properly repaired pitch mark should be pushed in from all four sides and flattened with the putter head and you are left with a covering of grass. Unfortunately some members are not doing this correctly and we are left with brown circles of clay the size of a €2 coin which will never recover properly. To those of you who are currently doing the job correctly we say well done and please continue.

For the months of January & February, the Ladies competitions are 8 & 13 Holes.

Round Robin.
The Round Robin competition this season will be a Team Round Robin, incorporating match play and team play.
There will be a maximum of four matches which can be played in conjunction and double up with the weekly competition.
It will be imperative not to give walk overs in matches because it will be your team that will be the victim at the end of the competition.
The sheet for entry is now posted on the Ladies Notice Board with the closing deadline of Friday 31 January 2020.
Matches can commence first week in February and will run up to Friday, 20 March.
Teams, where possible, will include an A, B, C/D player. We would ask Ladies to participate in this competition as it will form basic training for the forthcoming match play season.

2. Pat Walsh, Celine O’Sullivan, Anne B. Murphy 28pts.

Social Activities
Following the Christmas recess, the weekly Bridge sessions resumed last evening and will continue each Monday at 19.30hrs.

There are three players through to the quarter finals of the Patrick Wall Memorial Singles – Derek Kinahan, Graham Nugent and Andy Melay. We would ask the players in the five other second round games to try and play them this week.
The entry sheet for the Doubles Championship will be displayed, from Wednesday, with the draw to be held in two weeks.
We would encourage as many pairs as possible to support the doubles.
It is intended to have both championships completed by early March, in time for the first golf presentation. Entry for the doubles is €12 per pair and doubles and singles entries can be left in to the bar in an envelope.
