TransferMate Global Payments Senior Scratch Cup
The TransferMate Global Payments Senior Scratch Cup takes place on Saturday week 17th August.
The 36 hole competition will be limited to the top 66 applications with the cut off point expected to be at the two handicap mark, with a slight possibility of a few players on three handicap gaining entry.
Members, wishing to play, are advised to get their bookings in early as a strong field is anticipated.
There will be a shotgun start at 08.45 and followed by round two at 13.45hrs
Closing date for entries is Friday, 09 August. The draw will be available on www.kilkennygolfclub.com
Captains Prizes to Opposite Clubs
This weekend’s competition is Captain Mark Grant’s Prize to the Ladies and Lady Captain Eithne Murphy’s Prize to the Men.
The competition will take place on Saturday and Sunday with the Prize Presentation on Sunday night at 9.30pm.
Some lines for Ladies only have been added in on both Saturday and Sunday, there are also a number of lines on both days for Ladies who only wish to play 9 holes.
Club Matchplay Competitions
With the Club Finals Day set for Saturday, 07 September, it is disappointing to see the number of matches which have not been completed by the scheduled dates.
There is one match, in the Club Fourball, which was listed for completion by 21 July still to be decided. This is very unfair on other competitors who, have adhered to the prescribed timetable and are waiting to play matches.
This week-end has been set for all other Club competitions to be finalised thus allowing people involved in more than one matchplay event to compete in the semi-finals in comfort.
Following the success of last years Club Fundraiser, the organisers have pencilled in the week-end of Sat./Sun./ & Monday, 31 August, 01/02 September as the dates for this years event.
Full details will be available and published in next week’s notes.
Loreto PAL Fundraiser
Kilkenny Golf Club will host the Loreto PAL Fundraiser Golf Classic on Friday, 16 August.
PAL (Public Access to Law), is a schools programme, whereby students get the opportunity to argue the pros and cons of a particular court case in front of a Judge and Jury.
Twenty-two, TY students from Loreto Secondary School, won the right to represent Ireland and compete in the Empire World Finals in New York in October.
Substantial costs are associated with this trip and in an effort to defray some of the expense, the organising committee are seeking the support of Business, Individuals, Parents, Families and Past Pupils to arrange a team and play in the Classic on the 16th.
If you want to play but, don’t have a team please contact Joe O’Shea @ 087 810 0365 or 056 779 0100 and he will help to slot you into a team.
The cost for a team is €200, to include the Golf, Meal, Goodie bag and prizes.
Hole sponsorship is also available at €100 a hole.
A big ‘thank you’ to the 10 regular members who turned up last Tuesday to the Divot repair session.
There will be another session next Tuesday 19.30 hrs.
