General Notes
Dubai Duty Free Irish Open
Well done to Mark Power, who made his debut on the European Tour when he was invited to play in the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open last week-end .
Marks continued participation looked in jeopardy half way through his second round but for the experience of his caddy and his ability to fight to the end, yielded him three late birdies thus ensuring he achieved his main aim of competing in all four rounds.
Mark ended the Tournament in joint 60th position and was the leading amateur.

Bar Levy with Annual Subscription.
Any unused balance of the €50 is normally written off at end of October but, due to current circumstances, it will be extended to end of December this year to enable members to use it up.

Health & Safety.
Some works will be taking place on to the approaches to greens in the coming weeks with some trenches being opened up.
Members are requested to take due care during these works.

Practice Ground
Members are reminded that when using the practice facilities, they should be hitting in the direction of the 12th tee box only.
A member has reported balls landing on the 12th green, which could only happen if players were hitting balls back in the opposite direction.

Booking Cancellations
Members are reminded that they are not to remove their names within 24 hours of competitions unless under exceptional circumstances.
A number of members are constantly doing this and it is not acceptable to their playing partners or, to those on the waiting list.
Removing names in the early hours of the morning is of no use to members on a waiting list, as they will not receive a notification until the following morning which, in most cases, is too late. Serial offenders will be dealt with going forward.

World Handicap System in Ireland
Launching Monday, 02 November in Ireland.
Golf Ireland, the GUI and ILGU have confirmed that the World Handicap System will come into effect in Ireland from Saturday, 02 November, replacing the current Unified Handicapping System.
A series of educational resources are available at and club members are encouraged to familiarise themselves with these before the launch date.

Course News
A greater effort has to be made by players when exiting the bunkers.
The efforts of some members leaves a lot to be desired, with deep foot prints left after them.
Please use your foot or clubhead and smooth, as best as you can, the sand after you have played your shot.
