New Boundary Fencing
The Joint Management Committee have declared that the new Boundary Fencing, which has been put in place on the 7th, 11th & 12th Holes, is now in play and are now deemed as boundaries of the course.
Any ball coming to rest beyond and outside these fences is deemed out of bounds. Rule 18.2b applies.
A ball coming to rest inside the fence may be played or may be declared unplayable and relief may be taken under a one stroke penalty.
Rule 19.2 applies.
Presentation of Prizes.
There will be two presentation of prize evenings held in the Clubhouse this coming week.
The first presentation will be held tomorrow evening, Wednesday, 29 May @ 21.30 hrs..

Mixed Social Golf
The next session of Social Golf is fixed for Friday, 07 June, with sign in by 17.10 for shot gun start at 17.30hrs.
The format will be a 13 Hole Champagne Scramble with Finger Food included after the golf.

Ladies Club Notes
NEW CONGU RULE CHANGES FOR 2019
MEDAL/STROKE PLAY – Ladies Competitions
Maximum Score per hole – Rule 21.2
This a new format which can be used for stroke competition whereby a player, can pick up their ball when they reach the maximum score set.
For qualifying competitions at Kilkenny Golf Club, the maximum score must be set at a minimum of five over par. The maximum score will be awarded for holes not completed or if maximum score is exceeded. This will mean for every player in Kilkenny Golf Club that 10 is the maximum you can score so you must pick up your ball when you reach 10.
For handicap purposes and calculation of CSS the net double bogey principle will be applied. Clause 19.
(Please note, that the above ruling applies for all competitions from Tuesday, 04 June 2019.

Masie Lambe Open Day
The Masie Lambe Open Day, has been re-scheduled and will now be played on Tuesday 25 June.
Further details of this Open Singles, Stableford competition will follow.

It was disappointment for the Ladies Intermediate Cup team, who took on Woodenbridge in Killerig GC last Wednesday (22nd).
Failing to secure a point from the top three matches the remaining two ladies were called in.

Kilkenny v The Heath in Carlow Golf Club.
Despite the scoreline reading 2:1 in favour of the Heath there was some very tight matches in the early stages of the game.
It wasn’t until The Heath got their ‘second wind’ and applied the pressure, that the two points were secured Bridie & Phyl won the Kilkenny point.

Junior/Juvenile Coaching begins on Saturday, 08 June and continues right throughout the Summer, finishing on Saturday, 24 August.
There are two sessions each week.
The First session is from 09.45 to 11:00 for Juniors at Primary School level.
The Second Session is from 10:45 to 12:00 for Juniors at Secondary School level.
Juniors must be SIGNED-IN and ASSEMBLED beside the Clubhouse, READY TO LEAVE ‘ON TIME’ for their designated session as it takes 10 minutes to walk to the practice area. Coaching Fee is €2.
Junior 18 Hole Competitions begin on Monday 10th June and continue through to 26th August. Booking is done through the BRS system and the entrance fee is €3. These competitions do count for handicaps. Anyone who has never played in these competitions before should get approval from the Saturday morning coaching staff before starting.

Kilkenny had a very early start last Saturday when the Fred Daly Team played Waterford. With three home matches the Kilkenny boys were hoping for a strong showing. Unfortunately there was to be no further progress in the competes they went down by a margin of 3.5/1.5
