General Notes
Captain’s Prize Qualifier
The weather did it best to ruin the qualifying round of the Captains Prize at the week-end. Severe rain was forecast for all day Sunday and this prompted many golfers to opt for Monday golf. This proved to be the wise choice as the weather proved favourable until the downpour at 20.00hrs.
Undeterred by the inclement weather, 305 members braved the elements in an effort to secure one of the 99 qualifying slots for next Saturday’s final round.
Despite this downpour the leading qualifier came from the third last group to go out on Monday evening, with Gerry O’Dwyer, playing through the rough conditions, shooting an excellent 66. He will carry a two shot lead into Saturday’s final round. Only 13 players broke par over the week-end.
The cut off point looks like being on the 77 mark with not all securing their place.
The final decision will not be made until Members confirm their availability for Saturday.
If you have qualified BUT are unable to participate in round two please let the office know immediately.
The draw is scheduled to take place on Wednesday morning and will be posted on the BRS system at lunchtime.

Please note –
Only Full Members can win first prize.
Those full members must have three, 18 hole singles cards, played in Kilkenny, in the current year.

For the second round of the Captains Prize, players will play off the handicap they had in round 1. However if you were cut in round 1 and play golf during the week you should play off the adjusted Handicap.

Social Mixed Golf
The next date for Social Mixed Golf has been changed and will now take place on Saturday, 29 June, following the conclusion of the final round of the Captains Prize.
The competition will be a 13 Hole Champagne Scramble.
Members are requested to sign in by 17.15 ready for a 17.30 start.
