General Notes
Ladies Captain’s Prize
This Saturday, 15 June, the Ladies will tee off in an effort to win, Lady Captain, Eithne Murphy’s prize.
The format will be an 18 hole stroke competition.
During the course of the day there is also a nine hole competition taking place details of which are online.

Cost for the golf is €12 for 18 holes and €6 for the nine hole competition.
Golf will be followed by Dinner in the Clubhouse at 20.30 after which the presentation of prizes will take place. Music will follow – ‘til the small hours.
The cost for the meal, to include wine/refreshments is €20. Those members attending the dinner should put their name on the sheet on the notice board in the ladies changing room.

New Congo Rule Changes
The Ladies Committee has stated that for the Lady’s Captains Prize Maximum Score will not be applied.

Pink Day
The Annual D O’Regan Pink Day takes place next Tuesday, 18 June. The format is an 18 Hole Fourball. The cost for this will be €10. There will also be a nine hole competition during the day, with the cost of entry being €7.
Members should note that they can play on Sunday, 13 June also.
Funds raised will go to Cancer Research.

Blue Day
The Mens Club will host a ‘Blue Day’ next Sunday and Monday, 16/17 June. The week-end’s competition will be an 18 hole Singles Stableford competition, with funds raised being donated to Cois Nore. Entry will cost €8.

Bar Cup
Qualification for the Bar Cup took place at the week-end and 16 players made the cut for the match play stages, the draw, for which, will take place this coming Thursday.
The cut-off mark was 71, with only five members on that mark going into the draw.
Any qualifier who is not able to partake in the match-play should inform the Competition Secretary or the office prior to the draw taking place. There are eight other players on 71 who, no doubt, will be looking for defectors.

Junior Cup Team
Kilkenny’s Mens Junior Cup Team (4 Handicap – singles) played in the area Qualifier in New Ross last Saturday, 08 June.
With 10 teams in the field, only the top two, rather than top four, would progress to the match play on Sunday.
With four out of five scores counting, Kilkenny’s score, of 310, failed to make the top two slots, with Enniscorthy on 301 and Waterford on 303 securing their place in the final.

Divot Repair Session
Divot repair sessions recommenced last evening, Monday and will continue throughout the Summer.

The Irish Seniors Amateur Close Championships are being held in Kilkenny during the first week of July. As a result, there will be NO Senior’s competition on Thursday, 04 July.

Please Note
The Callan Senior Ladies will be joining with their Kilkenny counterparts for a 13 Hole Competition, this coming Thursday.
The draw and tee times are available on the Senior Ladies Notice Board.
Due to the large numbers attending the competition will tee off from the 5th hole and will finish on the 17th.

Junior/Juvenile Club
Junior/Juvenile Coaching commenced last Saturday, 08 June and will continue right throughout the Summer, finishing on Saturday, 24 August.
There are two sessions each week.
The First session is from 09.45 to 11:00 for Juniors at Primary School level.
The Second Session is from 10:45 to 12:00 for Juniors at Secondary School level.
Juniors must be SIGNED-IN and ASSEMBLED beside the Clubhouse, READY TO LEAVE ‘ON TIME’ for their designated session as it takes 10 minutes to walk to the practice area. Coaching Fee is €2.

Junior 18 Hole Competitions begin next Monday, 10 June and will continue through to Monday, 26 August.
Booking is done through the BRS system and is now open for next Monday’s Competition. The entrance fee is €4.
These competitions do count for handicaps.
Anyone who has never played in these competitions before should get approval from the Saturday morning coaching staff before starting.
