In beautiful sunshine last week-end, over 400 members attempted to claim one of the 90 places, up for grabs, for the right to contest the final round of Captain, Anthony Cleere’s prize.
With the scoring very tight at the top, and the players going out in descending order, the final three lines have picked themselves.
65:- Damian Casey (14) (LQ), David McNamara (9), Pat Butler (8).
66:- John Marnell (8), Ronan Moriarty (13), Brian Harrington (17).
67:- Emmett Boland (7), Rory MacEneaney (5), Brendan Cleere (12).
A total of 42 players had par or better.
Due to a number of withdrawals with players not available and Juvenile & Student members not going forward a number of 74’s made the cut for the week-end.
The sheet was uploaded on the Brs today and everyone should have their tee time for next Saturday at this stage, if for any reason you cannot play please phone Sean on 087 1250853.

The Club has re-introduced the use of Divot bags from last week-end.
Members should take one when beginning their round of golf and should keep same in the boot of their car to be replenished from the sand box at the first tee when they next play
Do not do, as some members did last weekend and hang (some full) theirs on the hooks at the cleaning bay. If you do intend using the mix PLEASE do not take a bag.
The sand mix should be used always as there are plenty of divots to be repaired and it is irritating to see full bags returned unused.
We still have some bags available please contact Sean 0871250853 if you will use one.
We will have another Divot repair session next Tuesday Aug 18th and a text message will be sent out to those in the group on Monday, if you would like your name to be added to the divot repair group please contact Sean on 0871250853. The session takes place once a fortnight either on a Monday or Tuesday night, it only takes an hour if we get sufficient numbers.

It was a very successful day with 140 Ladies playing, who turned out dressed to the nines in their pink outfits.
It gave the Lady Captain and Kilkenny Golf Club great pleasure to donate the funds which were raised on the day to Breast Cancer Research Ireland.
