Club Singles Qualifiers.

This coming week-end will see the Club Singles Qualifiers take place.

There are 63 qualifying places up for grabs and the successful players will be joined in the match play by defending champion Iain Harrisson. The draw for the matchplay will take place on Tuesday evening and it will be posted on the noticed board.

Contestants are reminded that they must stick rigidly to the dates for completion of each round. It is the responsibility of the member on top of the draw to arrange their match.

Shot gun Start

Unfortunately due to the shotgun start, for the Seniors Mixed Champagne Scramble, scheduled for 10.00, there will be no casual golf on Thursday morning.

Presentation of Prizes.

The presentation of prizes for all outstanding February and March competitions will take place this coming Friday at 19.00hrs.

All winners are requested to attend for the prize-giving. If unable to attend please arrange for a representative to attend in your stead.

The Masters Draw

The sheets for entry in the Masters draw will be posted on the column in the bar.
The cost will be €5 and should be placed in an envelope and handed in to the bar staff.
The draw will be made on Wednesday evening April 10th.

Competition Cards
A reminder to all players that they must return their completed card after every round. Failure to do so will result in the guilty member being disqualified from the next singles competition.

Winter Rules

From this coming Saturday, winter rules will cease to operate. Members may place the ball on the fairway, within six inches not nearer the hole. The ball must be played as it lies in the rough. This will apply for the next couple of weeks.

The suspension of Winter rules means that all scores will count towards handicap adjustments.

Members Time

It has come to the attention of the Committee that’s some members are using Members time to play in competitions.

This is not permitted and all competitors must play with-in the allocated times for the relevant competition.

Out of Bounds

The out of bounds rule, as per 2018, remains.

If a competitor puts his ball OOB he/she goes back to the spot from where he/she played their errant shot and incur a stroke and distance penalty.

Social Golf

Social golf returns for the season with the first session scheduled for Good Friday 18th April. Full details will be available in next weeks notes.

Aon Personal Insurance.

While a substantial number of members have already availed of this Insurance scheme, a reminder to those still considering joining that the official closing date has past. Members still wishing to avail of the scheme should contact the office to avail of this excellent policy. Cost €27.

Course News

What has one to do to get members repair their pitch marks.

We all expect to have perfect greens but, with the attitude of some members who consistently fail to repair plug marks this target cannot be met. It also appears that some members use certain greens for their practice sessions. The Course staff have noticed a substantial increase in pitch marks on two greens in particular. This practice must stop immediately.
