Follows us on Twitter:- Kilkennygolfclub@club_kilkenny
Official Winter Rules came into play from last Saturday, 12 October, 2019 and will remain until further notice.
Competitions will be played over 13/14 holes and will vary from week to week to allow parts of the course to be rested or to carry out essential works.
Placing is allowed throughout the course, except in Hazards (i.e Bunkers).
Before lifting, the ball must be marked, it may be cleaned and must be replaced, within six inches, not nearer the hole.
Failure to mark the ball before lifting will result in a one stroke penalty.
Ropes & Stanchions
Ropes & Stanchions are in place throughout the course and are there to protect the surrounds of greens. They are not to be moved or lifted.
If they interfere with your swing or stance, relief may be obtained at the nearest point of relief, not nearer the hole.
Members are requested not to walk/stand on the ropes. Entry to the greens should be made via the access area provided.
Caddy cars are not permitted inside the ropes.
Winter Handicap Adjustments.
The Winter handicap rules/cuts came into effect last week-end and will remain in place until further notice.
Players finishing in the top three will receive adjustments as per the schedule on display on the notice board.
In addition and also effective from last week-end there will be General Play Cuts based on a Yellow Card system, with the winner receiving three points, second and third both getting two points.
When a player has accumulated six points they will receive a cut of one full shot against their full handicap once qualifying competitions resume in the Spring.
The Yellow Card points system will apply to all competitions including Team events, Fourball and Foursomes.
Full details are available on the notice board.
It is the responsibility of each person to check their Winter handicap adjustments and to play off same throughout the winter months. Failure to do will result in disqualification for that competition.
Winners of the Saturday Fourball will not be subject to Winter adjustments.
Winter handicap adjustments do not affect your Club handicap when playing in other competitions away from Kilkenny.
